The Year of the Loudspeaker
Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening to you! I’d like to start off today with an observation followed by a question. First, the observation: in this industry, we all live on the edge between science and art. We all know and live this, and we all know that the subjective performance of a system and the objective performance of a system are equally important and don’t always correlate. Now for the question…for those of us who work closely with our colleagues across the Pacific, the answer is probably in the affirmative: Have you heard that in Chinese astrology 2026 is considered the Year of the Fire Horse?
At this point, some of you may be wondering “Where is this going?” I’ll tell you exactly where this is going: according to Forbes and various other online sources, this is a year for BOLD ACTION and INNOVATION. Whether or not one takes stock in this idea, there is absolutely NO DENYING that for the HARMAN Luxury Audio team, this energy is present. We believe that for our team, this year will forever be known as: THE YEAR OF THE LOUDSPEAKER. This will be the year where luxury audio innovation aligns the stars for a deluge of new loudspeakers that completely stun through lenses of both subjectivity and objectivity. Plus, they make gorgeous additions to any space!
