HARMAN Luxury Audio - Integrated Systems Europe 2026 Recap

Senior Director, Product Strategy and Planning

What an exciting week we had in Barcelona for the 2026 Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) industry trade show. In what was perhaps our largest ever announcement, we introduced twenty-four new products split evenly between our ARCAM and JBL Synthesis brands. For ARCAM, we brought our AV products into the Radia era and introduced our first range of complementary Radia loudspeakers for music and home cinema systems. For JBL Synthesis, we rolled out nine new SCL loudspeakers and three new AV components including our incredible SDP-70 24-channel AV preamplifier.

The reception to the Radia AV products was incredibly positive and expectations are exceptionally high. Our AVRs are known for their musicality and have a reputation for being the best sounding AV products available. With industry leading features and a range of models from 12- to 16-channels, this is the AV line your customers want to have in their systems. We demonstrated the flagship AVA35 in a 9-channel system with our new Radia loudspeakers. The Class G amplification sounds luxurious and engagingly detailed. The full-color front panel display and corresponding on-screen display make setup and daily operation a breeze. In addition to the AVA35, the new range includes the AVA25 and AVA15, plus the AVP45 preamp/processor. We also previewed the matching PA9 and PA4 multichannel power amplifiers that will join the range at the end of the year. The 9-channel Class G PA9 is the perfect companion to the AVP45 while the 4-channel Class D PA4 works to add additional channels of power to the AVRs.

And speaking of loudspeakers, we introduced the first range of Radia Series component loudspeakers with six models available. These were designed to create a single-branded solution with Radia hi-fi and AV systems. Using the world-class resources available to us at our Northridge, California acoustic engineering facility, we’ve developed new transducers and crafted new cabinetry that together deliver impressive performance with a beautiful design that perfectly complements the Radia electronics. In addition, we’ve added anechoic EQ filters to the SA35/SA45 and the new Radia AVRs so that we can further optimize the sound when using them with the Radia loudspeakers. The range includes the 3-way floorstanding R45 and R35 models, the 2-way R25 and R15 bookshelf models, the R35C center channel, and the R25B powered subwoofer. Initially, these models will be available exclusively in the European markets, but customer feedback will determine where they become available next.

JBL Synthesis made a statement at ISE with the global introduction of twelve new products including two AV processors, an AVR, our first powered subwoofer, and eight new SCL loudspeakers for in-wall, on-wall, and in-room applications. As replacements for the outgoing SDR-38 and SDP-58, the new SDR-40 and SDP-60 are updated across the board with new architecture and additional features. But it’s the SDP-70 that I think is going to be the disruptive model in the market. This is a new model to our range taking its place between the 16-channel SDP-60 and the 36-channel SDP-80. The SDP-70 features 24-channel capability with all the immersive audio codecs and includes Dirac Live with Bass Control and Active Room Treatment, as well as DANTE/AES67 digital networking all at an incredible price point certain to gain attention among enthusiasts. These new processors are the foundation of a complete JBL Synthesis cinema solution working in perfect harmony with our recently introduced SMA power amplifiers for full customization and calibration in conjunction with SCL loudspeakers and SSW subwoofers.
We are expanding the SCL loudspeaker range to address additional in-room and on-wall applications, as well as revamping our top in-wall models. Leading the charge is the flagship SCL-2XL, closely followed by the SCL-4XL, SCL-6XL, and SCL-7XL. These in-wall models delivered unparalleled performance using our patented JBL compression drivers and HDI™ waveguide technologies. For built-in/in-room applications, we are introducing the SCL-10 and SCL-10XL as models to sit below the flagship SCL-1. Perhaps the most excitement came from the introduction of the SCL-9 and SCL-9XL on-wall models. Using the same patented compression drivers and high-performance woofers as our in-wall models, we’re opening up a wide range of system possibilities for applications where loudspeakers cannot be installed in the walls. Show attendees were able to see and hear an active demonstration of the SCL-9XL in a 2.1-channel system with the new SSW-5 – our first self-contained powered subwoofer. With more than a dozen models and form factors to choose from, our SCL loudspeakers offer the perfect solution for your AV system needs. You’ll want to see and hear these new products to understand why JBL Synthesis systems are the standard by which home cinema excellence is measured.
I'm so proud of the work the Luxury Audio team has done to make this all come together in the way that it did in Barcelona this year. It is an exciting time to be partnered with our brands and we're just getting started with 2026 new product introductions. There is so much more to come! Stay tuned!
