Meet the Team

With Meet The HARMAN Luxury Team, our goal is for you to get to know us better. In each edition we feature a different member of the team, and this month it's Kaustubh Karambelkar, Luxury Audio Sales Manager – India Region.

How would you describe what you do in your current role?

In my current role my endeavor is to ensure anyone selling HARMAN products has the right knowledge about our products and their benefits, and they should be able to demonstrate these products showcasing its true value and potential.

What did you study in school? Did you always imagine yourself doing something like what you’re doing now or did the fates just take you in that direction?

I completed my Bachelors degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from IHM-Hyderabad. I am passionate about food production and I still cook whenever I get an opportunity. However, my love for music landed me a job with Bose Corporation which was poles apart from what I studied in college.

How did your career path lead you to HARMAN?

After working with Bose for 10 years I was blessed to get an opportunity to be associated with HARMAN. My focus on customer experience and quality demonstrations made me ideal to lead the HARMAN Brand store operations in India.

What is the most important thing you have learned over your career?

The most important lesson I learned throughout my career is to excel in your current responsibility and develop skills that are needed for the next role. Keeping this in mind I always ask myself at the end of each day: What did I learn that was new today? And did I achieve what I set out to do today?

Any other advice you would share with people just starting out in this industry?

I would always recommend to work on self-development as that is something that I have personally followed throughout my career and will continue to do.

What are you most proud of in your life?

I am proud of my family. My parents who played a pivotal role in shaping my life. My wife and my family who taught me the meaning of the word “Love”.

When did you realize you had a passion for music or audio? Was there any one band, song or movie that did it for you?

I have always been passionate about music. Growing up, Lucky Ali inspired me with his music. During my college years I enjoyed music from Pantera and Metallica. However, as I started working In the industry, my interest grew more and more towards Indian classic music.

What current technology impresses you the most?

The impact that AI has in everything we do today is truly fascinating. I am curious to know how this shapes our future. Within the Bluetooth technology “Auracast” is a benefit that has great potential according to me.

Favorite music genre?

Rock , Heavy Metal, Indian Classical.

The desert island question, of course. If you were marooned for eternity and could listen to only three albums, what would they be?

Cowboys from Hell - Pantera
