With Meet The HARMAN Luxury Team, our goal is for you to get to know us better. In each edition we feature a different member of the team, and this month it's Sammi Li, Supply Chain Manager.

How would you describe what you do in your current role?

Global Supply Chain management is challenging with opportunity always, collaborating with the great teams together to solve supply chain issues and accompany with HM business growth really inspired me

What did you study in school? Did you always imagine yourself doing something like what you’re doing now or did the fates just take you in that direction?

I studied law and international trade at university. My education sharpens my sense of contract & trade, I also like global collaboration, I think supply chain job is such work in this direction.

How did your career path lead you to Harman? 

Haman picked me as my study and experience aligned with its needs, Harman’s leading tech and reputation attracted me to join as well.

What is the most important thing you have learned over your career? 

Think first before action, clear on the goals, keep communication and positive mindset at all times.

Any other advice you would share with people just starting out in this industry?

Stay sensitive to market changes, resilience and flexibility is vital.

What are you most proud of in your life?

I luckily participated in one big project of supplying the high-speed rail components in my work life , every time I took the high-speed rail, I feel proud that I was a small part of such excellent train.

When did you realize you had a passion for music or audio? Was there any one band, song, or movie that did it for you?

It was at university time because I had time to experience more. Thanks to the radio that I heard Eason Chan & Jacky Cheung’s and Celine Dion ‘albums,  amazing and powerful sounds until today I still listen to.

What current technology impresses you the most?

The very smart AI assistant has cutting-edge insights into all kinds of stuff and keeps me updated on all kinds of industry trends and developments.

Favorite music genre?

My favorite genres: Cantonese pop, classic pop ballads, soft Rock.

The desert island question, of course. If you were marooned for eternity & could listen to only 3 albums, what would they be?

I’d take Eason Chan’s<<special thanks to…>>, Jacky Cheung’s <<True Feeling>> and one from Celine Dion <<Falling into you>>. Cantonese songs warm me, and Celine’s music is always comforting and full of energy.

Beyond work, I enjoy exploring funny things: like travelling around with friends by high-speed rail, cooking & doing housework make me feel relaxed.
