ARCAM Radia Series Dominates 2025 What Hi-Fi? Awards – Five Wins, Two ‘Product of the Year’ Titles

This year, ARCAM proudly secured five 2025 What Hi-Fi? Awards for the Radia series—including two coveted ‘Product of the Year’ titles. The Radia range has become a true halo for ARCAM, setting new standards in performance and design.
So, what’s behind this success? Is there a magic ingredient? What’s happening in Cambridge? And no, we’re not cheating! Let’s dive in.
The Magic Ingredient: A World-Class Team
It may sound cliché, but the real secret is people. Building a world-class team is the foundation of everything we do.
As a product manager, my role is to define what customers truly value—sometimes it feels like aiming for the moon! But thanks to the team assembled by Paul Neville, Director of Global Engineering, we consistently turn ambitious briefs into award-winning products.
What sets this team apart isn’t just technical skill, it’s passion. They love music, live performances, and the joy of exceptional sound at home. That passion drives them to create products that meet their own uncompromising standards.
As ARCAM Co-Founder John Dawson said when accepting the Outstanding Contribution Award from What Hi-Fi? in 2023, “I’ve never had a proper job.”
That spirit of curiosity and dedication exists in everything we do.
What’s Different in Cambridge? Relentless Attention to Detail
Every detail matters. From the routing of a PCB ground path to the gauge of a wiring harness, and even the tactile feel of a button—we obsess over it all.
We challenge ourselves daily to find better components, smarter layouts, and superior materials. It’s a process of continuous improvement. Winning an award today doesn’t stop us from asking: How can we make the next one even better?
A great example is the new A5+ and A15+ amplifiers, which Ketan Bharadia, Technical Editor of What Hi-Fi? praised for their enhanced performance, “It doesn’t take long to decide that we prefer the new one.”
How did we achieve this? By refining the power supply—not the audio path. As Dave Barber, Principal Hardware Design Engineer, explains, “We reduced the impedance of the mains power supply path, giving the amplifier a stronger power feed and more grunt! We also shut down digital audio circuits when not in use, lowering system noise for analogue inputs.”
Are We Cheating? Absolutely Not.
