Meet the Team

With Meet The HARMAN Luxury Team, our goal is for you to get to know us better. In each edition we feature a different member of the team, and this month it's Manuel Palacios, Territory Manager Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

How would you describe what you do in your current role?

My main job is Sales!

But I try to focus on meeting the needs of HARMAN's customers in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

What did you study in school? Did you always imagine yourself doing something like what you’re doing now or did the fates just take you in that direction?

I studied Marketing and then got an MBA at the Catholic University of Argentina

I've always been very interested in technology, maybe a little too much. So I think my destiny was to work in this industry.

How did your career path lead you to HARMAN? 

I worked for many years at the largest retail company in Argentina (Garbarino), where Audio was one of my main categories. At that time, I was a HARMAN customer!

That's where I met Rafael and the entire HARMAN South America team.

I also previously worked at Lenovo and other companies.

What is the most important thing you have learned over your career?

I think one important thing I've learned over the years is to focus on what's truly important in the business.

I believe the key is to be close to the customers, understanding what their strengths are and where they need to improve.

Any other advice you would share with people just starting out in this industry?

Be close to the products! Touch them, understand how they work, listen to them. At the end of the day, that's what we sell!

What are you most proud of in your life?

I think the best thing I've done in my life is build good relationships with family, friends and colleagues. A few years ago, I had a health problem, and I felt that many people supported me. That's when I realized!

When did you realize you had a passion for music or audio? Was there any one band, song, or movie that did it for you?

When I started playing guitar at 15, I realized that music has an important place in my life. Then I started listening to Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones, and I never stopped.

What current technology impresses you the most?

Definitely AI. I'm slowly trying to get involved and understand how it can help me in my daily work.

Favorite music genre?

Progressive rock!!!

The desert island question, of course. If you were marooned for eternity & could listen to only 3 albums, what would they be? 

Animals – Pink Floyd

Exile on Main St. -  The Rollings Stones

Peliculas – La Maquina de hacer pájaros (Great Argentinian Band!!)

I collect guitars!! It's something I started doing about 20 years ago and it still drives me crazy.
