Audio Union

Audio Union was founded in 1941 in Ochanomizu Tokyo as an imported automobile dealer called "Union Shokai." In 1953, the company changed its business from an imported automobile dealer to a home electronics retailer and established "Union Denki Shokai Co., Ltd." The store name was also changed to "Union Denki Shokai."

In 1967, the vinyl sales department opened a branch under the name "Union Record". In 1969, a home electronics retailer " Union Denki Shokai Co., Ltd." changed its name to "Audio Union" and became an audio specialty store.

Currently, “Audio Union”, an audio specialty store, and “Disk Union”, a vinyl and music software retailer, are both operated separately. It seems rare in the world to have a company that simultaneously operates an audio specialty store and a vinyl retailer.

Thoughts on the importance of training?

The detailed explanations of each brand's strategy and products in HARMAN’s listening room, as well as the actual product listening experience, provide invaluable information and experience for us that cannot be obtained anywhere else, and have truly led to improved customer service levels for our sales staff. Furthermore, the frequent store visits by HARMAN’s sales representatives and explanations of each sales strategy are also very important opportunities for the operation of each store and for approaching our customers.

We hope to continue holding these events and activities on a regular basis in the future.

What do you like most about HARMAN Luxury Audio products and which lines do you feature?

Most recently, we have been highly evaluating the JBL Summit Series and have introduced and exhibited the new product AMA and PUMORI at the shop front.

They are all great brands, but since Audio Union specializes in 2-channel home audio, we mainly handle JBL, Mark Levinson and ARCAM.

For example, the Machida store displays most of the studio monitor series and premium line JBL products, making it almost like a JBL shop. The Chiba store further focuses on sales of Mark Levinson models in addition to JBL. The Kichijoji store, the town is very popular with young people, also focuses on promoting ARCAM.
