How did Phoenix Systems get its start? Phoenix Systems began in 2000 as a safety and security company based in Georgia. Fast forward 25 years and three additional states later, we’ve grown into the Builder’s Choice for smart home system installation and design.
Our journey has been driven by a commitment to innovation, reliability and personalized service. From our roots in life safety to today’s fully integrated smart home solutions, we’ve stayed focused on what matters most: supporting our clients with expertise, craftsmanship and care.
How many people are on the Phoenix Systems team? We currently employee 130 team members across all our divisions.
Thoughts on the importance of training?
For us, training isn’t just a box we check—it’s a core part of how we serve our clients and builder network. Whether we’re supporting decisions around life safety, outdoor living, or anything in between, our clients expect us to bring knowledge, expertise and confidence to the table.
That’s why we’re constantly upskilling and staying close to the industries we support. Technology is evolving fast, and our job is to make it approachable, understandable, and less intimidating for everyone we work with.

How do you think the luxury audio industry is currently doing?
We’ve all seen the luxury audio industry evolve through countless trends and technologies and as someone who’s been in this space for years, I can confidently say: luxury audio is still alive and well—and more relevant than ever.
Yes, Bluetooth speakers and soundbars have their place. They’re convenient, accessible and serve a purpose. But let’s be honest: they don’t transport you. They don’t make you feel like you’re in the front row of a live concert or sitting in the middle of a cinematic masterpiece. That’s where luxury audio shines.
When you invest in a bespoke audio solution—one tailored to your space, your preferences, and your lifestyle, you’re not just buying sound. You’re investing in an experience. One that helps you disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with something deeper. These systems don’t just play music or movies, they evoke emotion, trigger memories and create moments.
That’s why education is everything in our industry. We can’t assume people know what they’re missing. It’s our job to show them. And that starts with how we demonstrate.
One of the most effective techniques we use is “Predict, Prove and Confirm,” also known in the industry as “Art of the Demo.” It’s not about cranking the volume and hoping for a reaction. It’s about guiding the listener through a journey—setting expectations, delivering on them, and confirming the emotional impact. When done right, it’s powerful. When skipped, we risk reducing luxury audio to just another speaker sale.
I am deeply invested and have many success stories around the power of crafting experiences, not just selling equipment. I believe that when people truly hear what’s possible, they’ll never settle for less again.
