Meet the Team

With Meet The HARMAN Luxury Team, our goal is for you to get to know us better. In each edition we feature a different member of the team, and this month it's Gerson Carlos, Key Accounts - Luxury Audio.

How would you describe what you do in your current role? 

As a Key Account Manager, I cultivate and maintain relationships with both new and existing clients within Luxury Audio segment across the country.

I conduct technical visits to assess client needs, prepare accurate quotes and establish adequate sales pricing.

Additionally, I organize and deliver training sessions and workshops for clients.

What did you study in school? Did you always imagine yourself doing something like what you’re doing now or did the fates just take you in that direction?

Music has been a constant presence in my life, and I've spent over 30 years working with audio and musical instruments.

I took a course at IAV (Audio and Video Institute), which helped me further my knowledge in the subject.

While I've always been passionate about this field, my journey has been shaped both my dedication to music and the opportunities that came my way, guiding me to where I am now.

How did your career path lead you to HARMAN? 

I spent 19 years at RMLA Royal Music Latin America, where I held various roles including sales, buyer and artist relations. Over time, I also helped implement a network of representatives and managed key regions of the country. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in the industry, which ultimately led to exciting opportunity with HARMAN.

What is the most important thing you have learned over your career?

The key to success lies in preparation, building connections and fostering strong relationships.

These elements consistently open doors to new opportunities and help to navigate the evolving landscape of the industry.

Any other advice you would share with people just starting out in this industry?

My advice would be to always listen attentively to others, continually invest in your education and, most importantly, follow your passion. Doing what you love will naturally drive you toward success.

What are you most proud of in your life?

I’m most proud of my family. Their unwavering support and the bond we share are truly my greatest accomplishments

When did you realize you had a passion for music or audio? Was there any one band, song, or movie that did it for you?

Music has always been a part of my life, but I think it was hearing "So What" by Miles Davis for the first time that really left a lasting impression on me. It was a transformative moment that deepened my love for jazz and sound in general.

What current technology impresses you the most?

I’m really impressed by the latest advancements in technology, particularly the Xiaomi YU7 car. Its blend of innovation and practical features showcases just how much the industry is evolving.

I’m a passionate guitar player, a true music enthusiast and someone who thrives in creative environments. I’ve also had the unique experience of being a roadie for the English/Italian band Double You, which gave me invaluable insight into the music industry from a different perspective.
