People absolutely adore superlatives. The most, the least, the best, the worst…they sure do take notice when something stands out above (or below) the rest. So this month, we thought we’d explore some sound superlatives that might just be your next conversation starter.
The Loudest Sounds Ever Unleashed!
According to various sources around the internet, it is generally agreed that Volcanoes take the cake when it comes to raw (sound) power. Anyone else suddenly feel like cranking some Iggy Pop? Experts say that the eruption of Krakatoa was so loud that it rounded the earth 3.5 times before finally becoming undetectable. Whoa. All this tectonic talk has me thinking of something with incredible power that was recently announced.
The Highest Frequency Hearing
You might guess that bats and dolphins would top this list, but apparently the Greater Wax Moth holds the record “hear.” Yep, we went there. This moth can perceive frequencies up to 300kHz, which we’re sure contributes to a longer, healthier life, but can you imagine how much they must appreciate the Hi-Res capabilities of Harman’s luxury audio products?
