Countdown to HIGH END MUNICH
By David Tovissi
Vice President and General Manager
HARMAN Luxury Audio Group

It is hard to believe that we are less than seven weeks away from the last HIGH END MUNICH audio show ever. For those of us who have made the annual audiophile trek to Munich over the past 20 years, it will be bittersweet because the HIGH END SOCIETY announced last year in September that they will be moving this show to Vienna in 2026.

This year’s brand ambassador for the show will be Annette Askvik, a Norwegian artist with a hypnotic sound, who probably is residing on most of your playlists.
With that as the backdrop, I wanted to make sure our dealers and distributors not only know about the closing chapter of HIGH END MUNICH, but also know that HARMAN LUXURY AUDIO will be writing the prelude and the next chapter in the historical documents of two of our legendary brands.
To celebrate the launch of these new products, we have partnered with the HIGH END SOCIETY to secure the largest space in the MOC Event Center to demo them. We are inviting press from across the globe to be present on the 1st day of the show to witness the reveal of these products and we want our customers to be there as well.
With over 30,000 square feet of the MOC Event Center dedicated to audio, I anticipate there will be bustling after the announcement of our new products. I anticipate long lines of hi-fi curious and audiophiles waiting outside in the atrium for a chance to listen to them. If you are curious as to what I am referring to, you need to speak with your HARMAN sales manager about our plans in Munich and perhaps you can jump the lines to be one of the first to experience our new products.
For those of you who have never been to the HIGH END audio show, it has been the preeminent event for manufacturers, like HARMAN, to demonstrate their flagship audio products to the press, the trade, and most importantly the audio enthusiasts who aspire to own them. The show has been a part of our industry for over four decades. It has been the venue where we launched some of our most iconic products.

Who could forget the 2015 HIGH END MUNICH that featured the world premiere of the Mark Levinson 536 Monaural Power Amplifiers or last year’s launch of the ARCAM Radia Streaming products featuring the flagship of the line the SA45. We were also delighted to host Leslie Mandoki and some of the original members of the Mandoki Soulmates as they demoed, for the first time publicly, their newest album A Memory of the Future.

HIGH END MUNICH consists of two days dedicated exclusively for the trade and the press to meet with manufacturers and listen to some great music. The show then opens to the public for an additional two days on Saturday and Sunday. It gives the public a chance to hear audio systems that otherwise they may never be able to at a local hi-fi dealership. This year’s dates are May 15th to 18th.
For those frequent attendees of HIGH END MUNICH Some of you may be thinking, “Will this be my last chance to gobble down a Currywurst (Curry Dog) at lunch?” Do not fret it. I have inside knowledge that the Zum sharfen Rene sausage stand is within walking distance of the Austrian Center Vienna (ACV) where the HIGH END show will be housed in Vienna.

The ACV is a modern facility that will raise the level of exhibition space and will ensure that we are reaching a younger audio enthusiast for the coming years.

So, as we countdown to the last year of HIGH END MUNICH and the launch of our new products at this show, I encourage you to join us in Germany to celebrate the storied past and the promising future of our industry.
