Over 40 years ago in 1984, IMP got their start when Chairman Roger Ralston, together with his  wife Pamela, started the business after inheriting some money and decided to take a risk with it. IMP currently has one location in Royston, North Hertfordshire, England, with a staff of 12 people.

Widely renowned for distributing quality brands to the marine, residential and automotive industries, IMP have continued to collaborate with other sectors to widen their distribution and experience.

We recently caught up with IMP to talk about their business.

Thoughts on the importance of training?

Training is an essential element of our business to ensure both our people and customers have confidence in what we do.

What do you like most about HARMAN Luxury Audio products and which lines do you feature?

IMP is a dealer for the JBL Architectural Lines to the professional installer channel in the UK. The best feature of the products is the amazing value for money they represent.

How do you think the luxury audio industry is currently doing?

The UK luxury audio industry is challenging at the moment due to economic pressures. That said, IMP and the JBL lines we represent are fairly new to the pro installer channel and we are experiencing healthy growth.

What is IMP’s mission?

Put simply we want to ‘enhance the performance and style’ to our customer’s projects.

 IMP was established just over 40 years ago. In that time, we have managed to grow our business from a small one-person operation with a single product selling into the marine industry, to a multi-million pound operation, supplying over 20 brands across residential, commercial and marine industries.
