Recognizing Mark Glazer for 35 Years of Innovations

One of the best things about working with HARMAN is the people that we have working with us, especially the talented group of acoustic engineers we have in our Northridge Center of Acoustic Excellence. One of those esteemed acoustic engineers, Mark Glazer, Senor Principle Acoustic Engineer just celebrated 35 years of loyalty and dedication to the HARMAN brands.
At the early age of 14, Mark became intrigued by loudspeaker designs after listening to the JBL Paragon at a Montreal Hi-Fi Show. Little did he know he would eventually be working for the company that designed the Paragon.

Mark graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Concordia University in Montreal Canada and started his career working at Jumetite Laboratories in Vancouver, British Columbia as a loudspeaker engineer. He later moved to Southern California and continued his passion for acoustic design by joining Plantronics as an electro acoustic engineering designing telephone headsets. In April of 1989, Mark joined the HARMAN family of brands as an acoustic engineer for Infinity designing home, automotive and architectural speakers.
Shortly after HARMAN acquired the Mark Levinson brand, Sydney Harman wanted to build a speaker line that complemented his high-end electronics brand. He tapped on Mark’s shoulder to help engineer loudspeakers in 1995. That brand eventually became known as Revel and he has been designing Revel loudspeakers for the brand since inception.
Mark's first loudspeaker series for Revel was the Ultima Series. Mark partnered with Domenic Buonincontri, Floyd Toole and Sean Olive to engineer the line.

Mark has worked closely with the HARMAN Automotive team developing loudspeakers for Ford and Lincoln.
Mark volunteers for ALMA International where he has been a member since 2018 and is always wanting to share his passion and experience with engineers who want to work in the loudspeaker industry

What’s next for Mark Glazer? He is now working on the next new series of Revel loudspeakers which should be available to the public in CY25.

We honored Mark this week during the Luxury Audio Global Stakeholders meeting.
