Roon Tips

We all have favorite songs and artists that we love to turn up, but nobody enjoys scrambling for the remote or volume knob when the music is too loud.
Roon's Volume Limits settings can help you avoid those situations and make it easy to protect your equipment and, more importantly, your ears from high volume levels. To set volume limits, click on the volume icon, then the gear icon, and select "Volume Limits." You can set limits for each audio device you use with Roon.
Roon offers two types of volume limits. Comfort Limit lets you set a comfortable listening level and prevents the volume slider from accidentally exceeding it. Only the manual +/- volume controls can go above your comfort limit settings. Safety Limits prevent dangerous sound levels entirely by prohibiting devices from exceeding your maximum volume limit.
Volume limits are a great way to make every Roon listening session enjoyable and safe! Try them out!

Have you ever wanted to take your music with you as you move around your home?
Our Transfer Zone feature keeps the music flowing when it’s time to put down the headphones and switch to the airplay speaker in the kitchen to prep party snacks. Use it again to move the party outside to the patio and then hop back to headphones after everyone has gone home.
All you need to do is make sure the device you want to use is powered on or on standby - Roon makes the rest easy! Roon even remembers the song’s playback position so you won't miss a beat!
Just look for the arrows icon on the volume popup!
