How would you describe what you do in your current role?

I manage the sourcing activities like supplier relationship management, cost management, supplier phase-in and phase-out etc. to co-work with the cross-functional teams to meet company goals of new product launches, delivery fulfillment, cost savings, etc.

What did you study in school? Did you always imagine yourself doing something like what you’re doing now or did the fates just take you in that direction?

I studied electronical engineering during my college and worked as an electronic engineer for the first five years of my working career. I believe that the fates just took me to the role I am now in, which I love the most. My nature is to talk with people, and I do like discussions and negotiations.

How did your career path lead you to HARMAN?

I had JBL speakers long before I joined HARMAN. I liked the sound and how the speaker looked, thus I was thinking how a company could make such speakers. So, I decided to join HARMAN without hesitation once I got the offer.

What is the most important thing you have learned over your career?

The #1 rule from me is “nothing is impossible through teamwork and cooperation”. The second rule is “reward comes with successful facts and hard work”. So, the most important thing is to work hard and cooperate with teams, then success and reward will come after.

Any other advice you would share with people just starting out in this industry?

Try to take responsibilities and risks. As a business or group continues moving forward, the most important thing is to refresh and restructure itself, trying to challenge the best and to be the best. Thus, all team members would need to take responsibilities and risks and dare to be the best.
