HMG Audio Visual

The HARMAN Luxury Audio Group is proud to have some of the best high-end consumer electronics partners across the globe. Each month, we have the pleasure of learning a little bit more about one of our dealers or distributors.

HMG Audio Visual is the only high-end home cinema company in Korea that has been designing and setting up spaces for home cinema for over 20 years and has its own installation staff and equipment. They provide total solutions for audio and visual spaces, from product supply to space completion, and have a system that can be supplied at the optimal budget. In pursuit of standard video, it complies with Dolby Atmos standards.

How did HMGAV get its start?

We started as a company specializing in the design and installation of luxury home cinema rooms in 2006. After Samsung Electronics acquired HARMAN International, we became the distributor of Harman Luxury Audio in 2018 and now operate related product distribution, AV design, and after-sales service centers. We have over 20 dealers in our Korean distribution network for premium HARMAN Luxury Audio products.

How many people are on the HMGAV team?

We have a total of ten people on our staff.

What is HMGAV's mission?

Our mission is to become the number one player in the world at HARMAN Luxury Audio.

Thoughts on the importance of training?

The experience of setting up in a well-equipped demo room, including the introduction of the latest features and compatibility between products, is crucial. It's all about reducing variables and getting the best possible quality. Whenever we have a new product, we repeat the training process in the demo room on how to actually set it up and use it.

What do you like most about HARMAN Luxury Audio products and which lines do you feature?

Mark Levinson ML50:  Sound performance that goes beyond traditional Mark-Levinson

JBL Synthesis SCL1/SSW1: We think it's a great home cinema speaker that no other brand is close to.

How do you think the luxury audio industry is currently doing?

There seems to be a polarization going on. There are expensive high-end products with lots of

features and great value for money. We need more of them in our market. HARMAN Luxury Audio also needs more expensive products for our customer base, which will support them.

You have the floor. Anything else you want to share with us about HMGAV that you would like the world to know?

HARMAN Luxury Audio needs to create a luxury product line that everyone envies. To do that, JBL and Mark Levinson need to step up their game. I think Mark Levinson should have a $50,000+ lineup of sources, preamps and power amplifiers, with headphones in the $10,000 range. I think JBL Synthesis should have a $5,000+ soundbar and a more powerful multi-channel power amplifier.
